Our approach

How this work is done here.

The order matters. Most of what goes wrong in this discipline is a later step being taken before an earlier one.

  1. 01

Scope by template, not by page

A store with hundreds of products still runs on a handful of templates. Pricing and planning against templates is what keeps a build predictable, and it is why the scope document lists templates rather than pages.

  2. 02

    Customise a maintained theme

A well-chosen theme, customised properly, is cheaper to run than a bespoke build and survives platform updates you would otherwise pay to keep up with. We will build fully custom when there is a real reason, and we will tell you when there is not.

  3. 03

Map redirects before launch, not after

Migrations lose traffic when old URLs return errors and the rankings behind them go with it. The redirect map is written and checked before the switch, along with tracking, feeds and structured data, because these break quietly.

  4. 04

    Hand it over documented

You get the theme, the repository and a written record of what was changed and why. Nothing depends on a licence we hold or an account only we can access.

03

What you get, and when

What lands, and how often.

Reporting you can read without a translator, on a schedule you can hold us to.

  • A written audit in 48 hours

Before anything is agreed. What we found, what we would change first, and what we would expect it to be worth. You keep it whether or not you hire us.

  • A fixed scope and a fixed price

Agreed against a template list before work starts. Changes of scope are quoted separately rather than absorbed quietly and billed as an overrun.

  • A staging site you can see

Progress is reviewable throughout rather than revealed at the end. Feedback happens while it is still cheap to act on.

  • Handover and documentation

The theme, the repository, the redirect map and a written record of decisions. Thirty days of fixes after launch for anything that was in scope.

04

Indicative pricing

What it costs to start.

From

£3,500

per project

Fixed scope, fixed price, agreed before work starts.

What moves the figure

The starting figure covers the five core templates — home, collection, product, cart and a flexible content page — with a catalogue of up to 100 products. Extra templates, a larger catalogue, or a migration with its redirect mapping and restructuring all move it up.

When this is the wrong fit

We are not the right choice for a bespoke headless build with a bespoke back end, or for a brand identity project. We build storefronts on Shopify and WooCommerce and will point you elsewhere for the rest.

Questions

The things people ask before they enquire.

Answered here rather than held back for a sales call.

  • What does the starting price cover?

A working storefront on a customised theme: the five core templates — home, collection, product, cart and a flexible content page — with a catalogue of up to 100 products structured properly, tracking and feeds connected, and a documented handover. Extra templates, a larger catalogue or a migration with its redirect mapping are quoted on top, against the scope document.

  • Do you use page builder apps?

Sparingly. They are convenient for marketing pages and costly on performance, because most add script to every page whether it is used there or not. Core templates are built in the theme; a builder is a considered choice, not a default.

  • Who owns the site when it is finished?

You do, including the theme code and the repository. There is no licence held in our name and nothing that stops another developer taking it on.

  • Will a migration cost us our rankings?

It can, and that is the main risk in any migration. A mapped redirect for every old URL, preserved page structure and a crawl comparison before and after are what keep the loss to a short dip rather than a lasting drop.

  • How long does a build take?

A straightforward Shopify build is typically four to eight weeks from scope to launch; a migration with catalogue restructuring takes longer. The scope document carries the dates before you commit.

  • Do you offer ongoing maintenance?

Yes, as a separate monthly arrangement. Thirty days of in-scope fixes are included after launch; beyond that, ongoing development is quoted on its own rather than bundled into a growth retainer.

Find out what is actually wrong.

Send us the URL and tell us what is not working. You get a written audit back within 48 hours: what we found, what we would fix first, and what we would expect it to do. If it turns out you do not need us, we will tell you that too.
